Stop Motion 2

This image also comes from my stop motion film.  This is when the cookies are taken out of the oven, and before the girl places them on the plate.  I like this image because it shows the after image of the dough turned into cookies.

Stop Motion 1

This image was a part of my stop motion movie.  It is in the middle of the action of the girl putting the tray of cookies into the oven.  My stop motion film showed a girl who was bored making cookies, then sadly having them eaten on her. I like this image because it is in the middle of an action.

coffee cup

This photo was the beginning of my time sequence project.  I showed a cup of coffee being drank.  The first few images showed an almost full cup of coffee. Later images showed a half cup of coffee and the last few images showed an almost empty to empty cup.

Song Poster Project

This is my final song poster project.  I did it on the song Strawberry Swing by Coldplay.  I focused on the love part of the song where the singer says how the sky could be blue but he wouldn't mind without the girl he loves by his side.  I took a picture on the bay in Jamestown, Virginia this past summer.  It looked perfect with the blue sky.  In one of my magazines I found a couple modeling, and I photoshopped them out of their background and into my beach them.  I distorted the whole image to make it more interesting and I really enjoyed what I did to portray the lyrics of the song.

This sculpture is located at a shopping center near where I live.  Although I did not use this photo in my final image, it was still pretty interesting to me and therefore I tried to incorporate it into my final, but it did not work out.  To me it is still an interesting sculpture and I like the way I cropped it since the flyer is centered, but the person holding her is off centered.

This photo was used in the collage project.  I took it at a shopping center near my house and I really like the lighting.  I went around dusk so the sunset can be seen reflecting in the windows of the store.  Although I only used the Lucky Brand sign in my final image, I like the way this photo turned out compositionally.

Collage Picture

I took this picture at a shopping center in my hometown.  I decided to do a fashion theme for the collage project, so clothing store pictures were exactly what I needed for my collage.  I especially like this picture I took of Guess, because of the angle.  I only used the store names in my collage, but since I liked how the store looked in this picture, I used this whole picture in my collage.  I enjoyed using photoshop techniques to make my whole collage more aesthetic.  But I wanted to show one of my original pictures before it was manipulated in my collage.

Make-up

This picture was just me experimenting with the collage project. I scanned a bunch of my makeup and I changed their appearance on PhotoShop to make them more exciting.  I also added in a picture of myself using a makeup brush.  Although I don't plan on using this picture as my final, it was good being able to play around with scanner pictures and pictures I took with my camera.

Blurring

I stood outside of old college on the corner of East Main Street and South College Avenue.  My shutter speed was about 30 seconds and I took pictures of the passing cars.  I enjoyed learning about how shutter speed affects photographs.  I'm satisfied with the way they photograph turned out because I think it really shows the movement that occurs on this busy street.

Panning

I really enjoyed this project because I got to experiment a lot with my camera.  It was interesting to learn how to use shutter speeds.  I especially liked panning and stop action shots.  I'm happy that my panning pictures came out as well as they did, since my subject is very clear while the background is very blurred.

Bicycle Rack

I chose this picture because it was part of learning how to use the aperture (part 1 of the project).  I like how in this picture (the larger image you can see it more easily) the blue bike is very clear, but the trees and figures in the background are very blurry.  I like being able to use the aperture because the subject you focus on pops out  a lot more because it is the only clearly seen object.

Self Portraits

I chose this self-portrait, which ended up being one of my final photographs, because it's one of my favorites.  I really enjoyed taking the reflection pictures in particular because you did not have to look straight at the camera and all of my reflection pictures look so much more dramatic.  I like this picture in particular by the way I cropped part of my head off so the focus is more on my neck and blush on my cheek.

Ray Street C

I chose to take this photo from the steps of my building on Ray Street.  I did not want to take the picture of the whole front of the building purposely.  I like the idea of the building on a diagonal in this photograph.
